Tsechu ~ Festivals Bhutan’s vibrant Buddhist culture is joyously expressed through it’s many festivals which usually take place over several days. From small village ceremonies to the grand “Tshechus” of Paro and Thimphu - the Bhutanese revel in these colorful celebrations.
Highlight of the festivals are the mask dances known as ‘chham’ in honor of the Buddhist saint ‘Guru Rinpoche’, performed by monks and laymen.
